Exam Pattern

The exam paper will constitute 3 sections. Candidates have to attempt a total of 120 multiple-choice questions in a duration of 120 minutes. NPAT is conducted in a window of two days. Every question carries equal marks and incorrect answer leads to negative marking of 1/4th marks.

  • The candidate must have obtained an aggregate of 60% marks in 10+2 equivalent examination.
  • It is compulsory for the student to have passed in Mathematics/ Statistics at 10+2 or equivalent exam.
  • Candidates holding IB Diploma will be eligible only if he/she has Mathematics/ Statistics at standard level.
  • CBSE and ICSE candidates need to mention 10th or equivalent aggregate marks of all the subjects – best of four or five subjects shall not be considered.
  • Candidates exceeding 25 years of age are not eligible for applying to the exam.
  • Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from Open or Distance learning (ODL) can also apply for the exam, but the school must be recognised only by National Institute of Open schooling (NIOS).
  • Candidate who have not been able to clear 10+2 in their first attempt are not eligible for the exam.

DU JAT 2019 Registration begins from May 15, 2019. Candidates should not wait for the last day and fill the application form before June 07, 2019. The application form includes process of registration, uploading of images and fee payment.


  • Candidates can fill the online application form from the official website of NPAT.
  • Click on ‘Register’ n the upper part of the homepage.
  • After filling the appropriate information, click on ‘Register’.
  • An ID and Password are sent to your mailbox, obtain them from there.

Filling the Application Form:

  • Log in using the ID and Password produced in the registering process.
  • Once signed in, you have to fill other individual facts like Guardian’s name, Mother’s name, Gender etc.
  • Then, type your educational qualification details, about the senior secondary examination primarily.
  • Enter your permanent address and other contact info.

Note: This will be used for communication purposes.

Uploading of Documents:

  • The applicant will have to upload the following documents in their application form:
  • Upload your fresh passport size colored photograph and signature..
  • The scanned images should be in the format recommended on the NPAT website.
  • Click on ‘Save and Continue’ to save your application form and move to the subsequent steps.

Note: Candidates can edit their form at this time if needed. Once the fee is paid, no correction is permissible on the application form.

Admit Card

Candidates have to download their admit cards from the official website of NPAT 2019 exam. They have to enter the ID and password to get the admit card. The authority doesn’t send any call letters to candidates through post or any other physical means. NPAT 2019 Admit Card is available to download one week before the exam. It is published in the second week of May.. For downloading the admit card, follow the given steps:

  • Go to the official website.
  • Click on the ‘Login’ link.
  • Enter your ID and Password.
  • Your Admit card will be produced and displayed on your computer screen.
  • Take print out of the Admit Card and preserve it for future purposes.

Results and Cut-Offs

Results for NPAT 2019 conducted in May 2019 is going to be announced by NMIMS in June 2019 and are published on the official NPAT website. Candidates can check their result by signing into the website using their ID and password.

Three merit lists are made on the basis of the scores obtained by the candidates. Candidates are called for counselling once their name appears in the merit list prepared by the University. They have to ensure their admission by paying the admission fee.


NPAT 2019 Counselling and seat allocation of all the qualified candidates is scheduled from Mid-June 2019 to end of June 2019 according to merit list. Candidates are required to pay the admission fee to confirm their allotted seats. Note: The seat once allotted will not be changed or altered under any circumstances.

After the first round, if there are any vacant seats, a fresh merit list is made. These students are called for the seat allotment. Usually, there are three rounds in NPAT counselling. The counselling takes place at designated centres set up by NMIMS.
